We’re excited to announce that on September 2nd, 2013 the Rev. Daniel Cooperrider began as Pastor here at the Weybridge Congregational Church.
In a letter to the congregation, the Search Committee writes:
“Daniel was ordained by the UCC in May of 2011. He received both his A.B. in Philosophy and Religious Studies and his Master of Divinity degrees from the University of Chicago. His experiences include work as a teacher and consultant at Capital College in Kathmandu, Nepal; as a Seminary Intern at the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; as a Chaplain Intern at the Church Home at Montgomery Place, Illinois (retirement community); and most recently as a Pastoral Resident at the Wellesley Congregational Church. This last position is a highly sought after two-year, comprehensive transition into ministry program for promising young pastors.
His many other areas of interest, volunteerism and personal involvement has had him engaged in areas of environmentalism, sustainability, theological education, and as a consultant in the theory of “Appreciative Inquiry.” Hiking, canoeing, and fly-fishing are among his favorite activities. He is an avid reader, writer, and poet along with being a sports fan and foodie. Clearly, he is a good match for our part of the world…”
