In affirming our connection to God, to each other, and to all creation, we commit ourselves to the intertwined responsibilities of caring for creation and seeking justice for all.
In a spirit of gratitude, we recognize that creation is a gift from God, and that being a part of creation means being enmeshed in the interdependent web of life.
In a spirit of repentance, we lament our abuse of creation, which causes suffering for all life and has a disproportionate impact on marginalized and oppressed communities.
In a spirit of resolve, we commit to living out our church’s Covenant in an age of climate change and ecological concern–and so, “We strive to be doers of the Word, not hearers only; and to labor for the progress of knowledge, the promotion of justice, and the reign of peace.”
In a spirit of prayer, we rely on the Holy Spirit to empower us to strive with courage, hope, and joy for Creation Justice in all dimensions of our congregations’s life and mission.
